Dr. Zoran Mitrovic
DIRECTOR: VM ADVISORY
Dr Zoran Mitrovic is an ICT professional and senior academic with over 40 years of combined experience in consulting, lecturing and research. He is currently a Director at the VM Advisory and is also associated with certain South African and overseas universities.
Dr Mitrovic specialises in the following consulting, research and lecturing areas:
Information Systems Management (strategies, IS business benefits);
Cybersecurity Management (organisational strategies and policies, board concerns, cybersecurity risk management, awareness campaigns, insider threats, capacity building programmes, national strategies and policies);
e-Skills/e-Competences development (national, organisational);
e-Government;
ICT for Development (ICT4D).
As a result of his involvement in the development of e-skills in South Africa, he was honoured to be the leading author of the highest National strategy documents in this field: the National e-Skills Plan of Action – NeSPA 2010/13.
He has also been extensively involved in research and evidence-based strategy and policy advising works for a number of South African (government and corporate) and international (UNDP, UNESCO, WWW Foundation, IDRC, etc.) organisations.
Beside academic works, presented at national and international conferences, he is the author of a number of popular, awareness-spreading cybersecurity articles primarily aimed at business people and the wider public.
