Mrs. Drudeisha Madhub
DATA PROTECTION COMMISSIONER: MAURITIUS
Appointed in 2007 as the Data Protection Commissioner of Mauritius, a member of the Francophone Association of Data Protection Commissioners and Global Privacy Enforcement Network; Mrs. Drudeisha Madhub has been involved in Data protection and the protection privacy as a human right for almost a decade.
She holds an LLB from the University of Mauritius, first in her class in the bar exam for the Council of Legal Education in Mauritius. Completed her LL.M in International Rights from Essex University, UK through the British Chevening Scholarship of the FCO.
Mrs Madhub is a member of the UN Global Pulse Data Privacy Advisory Group, a member of the Common Thread Network (CTN) and Council of Europe, a standing member of Réseau africain des autorités de protection des données personnelles (RAAPDP).
She was appointed as data protection and human rights expert by Interpol and a member of the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files in March 2011 and UN expert by joining the UN Global Pulse Data Advisory Group in September 2014. She has published various articles in international journals and guidelines on data protection.
